What is your payment policy??

Payment in full is required to secure the booking.

Do you operate all year round?

Yes we can ! Normal operating season is April to November. Outside these months please contact Mick directly, as river heights and weather will determine if we can run a tour.

What happens if my charter is cancelled?

If the charter is cancelled by Flicking Lures for any reason e.g. due to bad weather, you will be offered a full refund or the opportunity to rebook another date.

What’s your cancellation policy?

  • More than 14 days full refund.
  • Less than 14 days but more than 7 days 50% refund
  • Less than 7 days no refund

What should I wear?

A good wide brimmed hat, with strap so it stays on! A long sleeved shirt, shorts or long light pants and appropriate footwear.

What do I need to bring?

In addition to the above clothing and a wide brimmed hat with strap, we suggest you also bring a water bottle, and your phone or camera. The vessel has USB ports so don’t forget your charging cable.

When is the best time of the year to catch a Barramundi?

Barramundi can be caught all year round, though generally the warmer the water the better.

Are passenger pickups available?

Pickup is available. Tagalong optional. Meeting point for self-drive is usually at Puma Service Station at 5 Messmate Way however this must be confirmed with Mick prior to your tour.

What is the maximum number of passengers onboard?

We operate with a maximum three passengers. For the ultimate fishing adventure book a 1 on 1 with Mick and have the boat to yourself.

Do you cater for dietary requirements?

Yes, we cater for most dietary requirements. Please let us know of any allergies when you make a booking.

Will I see a crocodile?

The Lower Ord has a high concentration of crocodiles there is a high probability you may see one. This is a good time to reiterate always follow Micks directions !

What is the minimum age?

For safety reasons, our minimum age is 8 years of age. Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

Do you have a toilet onboard?

No we do not. We would recommend using the restrooms available prior to your tour departure.

Do I need any prior fishing experience?

No. Mick is there to guide you every step of the way. We cater for beginners right through to experts.

Do I need a fishing license?

No, you are covered under our FTOL (Fishing Tour Operators license).

Can we BYO rods and tackle?

Yes you can. We encourage those with their own gear to bring it. We provide tackle that is suitable to most anglers, however we do understand that some anglers have their own gear that they would like to use.

What’s your catch and release policy?

The Lower Ord is one of the last unique pristine rivers in Australia, and such we encourage catch and release of fish. We will however keep a size fish for our onboard for BBQ lunch.

However any fish that are kept are in line with WA Government size and bag limits.

Are we guaranteed to catch a fish?

We cannot guarantee a fish, however you are with one of the best guides in the East Kimberley, so chances are good !

What type of fishing technique do we use ?

Flicking Lures as the name suggests specializes in Lure fishing. However there will be times when  live baiting will be used, this will be at the discretion of Mick.
